Today I met a man that couldn’t read. I had to fill out his paperwork for him so he could recieve money that was sent to him.
I know it happens, but I don’t think I have ever really encountered a grown person that couldn’t read. It saddens and baffles me that in our country, we still have people who cannot read, or write.
I can’t imagine my life without being able to read. it must be incredibly isolating.
thats just what i am thinking about right now.
in other news, we had 16 inches of snow this weekend. reports of up to 20 inches in this area. oh yeah, and if you haven’t looked at your calendars lately, IT IS APRIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! not too happy, can you tell?
